1// PRIMER BEFORE VARNISH

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

The Primer Before Bi Aqua Varnish is ready-to-use white liquid. It is used as impregnation and creates a film that blocks the surface and facilitates application of the varnish. Class A+. Does not contain N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), it is a water-based non-toxic eco-friendly product. Applicable in general in 2 or 3 layers (depending on decorative concrete). The Primer before polyurethane varnish is a ready-to-use white liquid .

NECESSARY TOOLS:

Microfibre roller 10 mm and extension pole.
Clean the tools with water immediately after use.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

In case the varnish is placed onto new EBC, RBX or SCBC, the surface must have dried for at least 5 days at 20°C.
Surface moisture must be inferior to 1%.
The surface must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease or laitance traces.
On newly applied decorative concrete coatings profound vacuum cleaning is necessary.

APPLICATION:

Application temperature: + 15°C to + 25°C (12°C minimum). Make sure that surface moisture is inferior to 1%. Shake well the can. 1st layer: dilute the primer with 20% of water in volume (for example for 1 litre of primer add 200 ml of water). Make crossing movements: Place the first layer with a microfibre roller 10 mm in a uniform way. Start from the side with better lighting and place the product moving away from the light to observe the surface and rectify as soon as you notice a badly covered spot. Place some amount of the primer next to the window and spread uniformly towards the source of light. Never leave ‘puddles’.The first layer must be dry to touch before you place the second: leave to dry for 60 to 120 minutes. Do not sand between the layers. 2nd layer: Place non-diluted product. Place the 2nd layer in the same way as the 1st one. 3rd layer (onto Concrete Look Seamless Floor): The 3rd layer is necessary for Concrete Look Seamless Floors. Place non-diluted product. Place the 3rd layer in the same way as the 2nd one.

TIPS:

Pour the product into coating pan/bucket, never pour it directly onto the surface. The area must be sufficiently aerated, but avoid any draughts and direct sunlight during application and drying process. Protect from dust. If the room has underfloor heating, it must be turned off one day before the application. The primer should be placed onto the sides and frontiers of your area at the same time as over the main zone to avoid the traces of a roller.

DRYING:

Leave to dry for 12 hours at 20°C before placing the varnish.

PERFORMANCE AND PACKAGING:

Consumption: between 100 gr/m² (onto EBC) to 150g/m² (onto RBX or SCBC) for all the layers (depends on surface porosity: EBC or RBX/SCBC).
Packaging:
Can of 2.5 L or to cover 16.5 m² for RBX/SCBC or 25 m² for EBC.
Can of 10 L or to cover 66.5 m² for RBX/SCBC or 100 m² for EBC.

2// BI AQUA VARNISH FLOOR

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Bi Aqua Varnish Kitchen is a protective polyurethane varnish consisting of 2 components (component A varnish + component B hardener). It creates an extremely resistant protection film. It is easy to apply due to its consistency. It can be semi-matt. In general it is applicable in 2 layers. The 3rd layer might be necessary depending on the quantity of varnish placed on previous layers.

NECESSARY TOOLS:

Microfibre roller (10 mm), extension pole. The tools must be cleaned with water immediately after use.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

On new decorative concrete coatings the surface must be well impregnated with the Primer at least 12 hours before the use of Bicomponent Varnish. Surface moisture must be inferior to 1%. In case of renovation the surface must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease or laitance traces. The surface must be well cleaned with our «Intensive Cleaner Before Aqua Varnish Restoration». The surface must also be polished with a single-disk polisher (refer to Maintenance of Polyurethane Varnish guide).

MIX PREPARATION:

Shake well varnish cans and hardener cans.
Mix the varnish and the hardener keeping to the following proportions:
10 parts of varnish (component A) with 1 part of hardener (component B)
It’s the hardener that must be added to the varnish and not vice versa.
For example :
900 ml of varnish component A + 90 ml of hardener component B
5 litres of varnish component A + 500 ml of varnish component B
Caution: the mix can be used only within 4 hours. Thus, do not mix varnish + hardener in quantities that cannot be used within this time.
If the temperature is elevated, the longevity of conservation of the mix in a container will decrease considerably.
Do not close hermetically the container with the mix: it will react within the container forming reaction gas.

APPLICATION:

Application temperature: + 15°C to + 25°C. / Surface temperature : 12°C / Residual moisture : ?1%.
Place all the layers at the same day with a 2 hours’ interval between the layers (minimum).
1st layer:
Place the first layer with a microfibre roller 10 mm in a uniform way.
Start from the side with better lighting and place the product moving away from the light to observe the surface and rectify as soon as you notice a badly covered spot. Place some amount of the primer next to the window and spread uniformly towards the source of light.
Never leave ‘puddles’.
2nd layer:
Place the 2nd layer in the same way as the 1st one.
3rd layer:
Might be necessary depending on the amount of varnish placed on previous layers
. Place the 3rd layer in the same way and under the same conditions as the previous ones.

TIPS:

Pour the product into a coating pan/bucket: never pour it directly onto the surface. The area must be sufficiently aerated, but avoid any draughts and direct sunlight during application and drying process. Protect from dust. If the room disposes underfloor heating, it must be turned off one day before the application. The varnish should be placed onto the sides and frontiers of your area at the same time as over the main zone to avoid the traces of a roller.

FINAL DRYING/RETURN TO SERVICE:

Dry to touch: 2 hours.
Allowed to step on: 24 hours after the last layer of varnish.
At room temperature the protection film will achieve its definitive resistance after 7 days.
The system Decorative Concrete + Sealer will achieve its maximal hardness after 28 days.
During the first 10 days after application:
- Do not cover with films, carpets.
- Do not move heavy furniture.
- Apply only dry cleaning: never moisten.

ROUTINE MAINTENANCE:

Regular maintenance is necessary. It’s frequency varies depending upon the use of the area and a chosen sealer. In order to preserve the product and sealer, we advise to: Place the felt pads under the legs of the furniture, chairs etc. Not to leave any coloured water spots or grease stains… Wipe them out as soon as possible (within 30 minutes) - Coloured products (such as hair dye, disinfectant dye etc) as well as migration of plasticisers (such as rubber) might lead to irreversible coloration of protective layer while mecanically caused deterioration may accelerate the varnish wear. - Isolate flowerpots. - For regular maintenance use «Intensive Cleaner Before Aqua Varnish Restoration». - To remove stains use «Stain remover».

CONSUMPTION & PACKAGING:

Consumption
100 g per m² for all the layers (on sufficiently impregnated decorative concrete). Packaging/Format: Cans of 900 ml of varnish + 90 ml hardener: 10m² Cans of 5 litres of varnish + 0.5 litres of hardener: 55m²
