1// PRIMER BEFORE VARNISH

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

The Primer Before Bi Aqua Varnish is ready-to-use white liquid. It is used as an impregnation and creates a film that blocks the surface and facilitates application of the varnish. Class A+. Does not contain N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), it is a water-based non-toxic eco-friendly product. Applicable in general in 2 layers. A 3rd layer might be necessary depending on the amount of varnish placed on previous layers.

NECESSARY TOOLS:

Microfibre roller 10 mm and extension pole.
Clean the tools with water immediately after use.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

In case the varnish is placed onto new EBC, RBX or SCBC, the surface must have dried for at least 5 days at 20°C.
Surface moisture must be inferior to 1%.
The surface must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease or laitance traces. On newly applied decorative concrete coatings profound vacuum cleaning is necessary.

Application

Application temperature: + 15°C to + 25°C. Make sure that surface moisture is inferior to 1%.
Shake well the jerrican.
1st layer: dilute the primer with 20% of water in volume (for example for 1 litre of primer add 200 ml of water).
Place the first layer with a microfibre roller 10 mm in a uniform way. Cross your movements.
Start from the side with better lighting and place the product moving away from the light to observe the surface and rectify as soon as you notice a badly covered spot. Place some amount of the primer next to the window and spread uniformly towards the source of light.
Never leave ‘puddles’.
The first layer must be dry to touch before you place the second: leave to dry for 60 to 120 minutes.
Do not sand between the layers.
2nd layer: Place non-diluted product.
Place the 2nd layer in the same way as the 1st one.
3rd layer:
The 3rd layer is necessary for Concrete Look Seamless Floors.
Place non-diluted product.
Place the 3rd layer in the same way as the 2nd one.

TIPS:

Pour the product into coating pan/bucket, never pour it directly onto the surface. The area must be sufficiently aerated, but avoid any draughts and direct sunlight during application and drying process. Protect from dust. If the room has underfloor heating, it must be turned off one day before the application. The primer should be placed onto the sides and frontiers of your area at the same time as over the main zone to avoid the traces of a roller.

DRYING:

Leave to dry for 12 hours before placing the varnish.

PERFORMANCE AND PACKAGING:

Consumption: between 100 gr/m² (onto EBC) to 150g/m² (onto RBX or SCBC) for all the layers (depends on surface porosity: EBC or RBX/SCBC).
Packaging:
Can of 2.5 L or to cover 16.5 m² for RBX/SCBC or 25 m² for EBC.
Can of 10 L or to cover 66.5 m² for RBX/SCBC or 100 m² for EBC.

2// BI AQUA VARNISH KITCHEN

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Bi Aqua Varnish Kitchen is a protective polyurethane varnish consisting of 2 components (component A varnish + component B hardener). It creates an extremely resistant protection film (especially against stains). It is easy to apply due to its consistency. It has a satin finish. It can be semi-matt with addition of “Ceram Hardener” (in this case the initial colour of decorative concrete will be slightly modified). Refer to the specification of “Ceram Hardener”. In general it is applicable in 2 layers. The 3rd layer might be necessary depending on the quantity of varnish placed on previous layers.

NECESSARY TOOLS:

Flocked foam or microfibre roller (10 mm), extension pole.
The tools must be cleaned with water immediately after use.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

New decorative concrete coatings must be well impregnated with the Primer at least 12 hours before the use of Bicomponent Varnish.
Surface moisture must be inferior to 1%.
In case of renovation the surface must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease or laitance traces. The surface must be well cleaned with our «Intensive Cleaner Before Aqua Varnish Restoration». The surface must also be polished with a signle-disk polisher (refer to Maintenance of Aqua Varnish guide).

MIX PREPARATION:

Shake well varnish cans and hardener cans. Mix the varnish and the hardener keeping to the following proportions: 4 parts of varnish (component A) with 1 part of hardener (component B) For example: 2 litres of varnish component A + 0.5 litre of hardener component B. It’s the hardener that must be added to the varnish and not vice versa. Leave the mix aside for 10 minutes before application. Caution: the mix can be used only within 1 hour. Thus, do not mix varnish + hardener in quantities that cannot be used within this time. If the temperature is elevated, the longevity of conservation of the mix in a container will decrease considerably. Do not close hermetically the container with the mix: it will react within the container forming reaction gas.

Application

Application temperature: + 15°C to + 25°C.
1st layer :
Place the first layer with a microfibre roller 10 mm in a uniform way. Start from the side with better lighting and place the product moving away from the light to observe the surface and rectify as soon as you notice a badly covered spot. 2nd layer:
Place the 2nd layer in the same way as the 1st one.
3rd layer:
Might be necessary depending on the amount of varnish placed on previous layers. Place the 3rd layer in the same way as the previous ones.

TIPS:

Pour the product into a coating pan/bucket: never pour it directly onto the surface. The area must be sufficiently aerated, but avoid any draughts and direct sunlight during application and drying process. Protect from dust. If the room disposes underfloor heating, it must be turned off one day before the application. The varnish should be placed onto the sides and frontiers of your area at the same time as over the main zone to avoid the traces of a roller.
